SPONSORSHIP

In order to properly carry out our activities, we requested and received funding from a number of foreign and Romanian banks and private companies. Even though these funds did not amount to very much, in our turn, we understood to offer from the little we had to support, under the form of sponsorship, the activities of other organizations.

- We made a donation of books on political, economic, social, tourist and military issues about Romania, to NATO HQ in Brussels and to SHAPE HQ in Moons libraries in 1997.

- We sponsored the seminar "Romania's national security policy in the new European and regional geostrategic environment" organized by the Romanian Ministry of National Defense together with NATO in 1996;

- We sponsored the new defense minister's meeting with editors-in-chief of the main publications and Radio and Television representatives in 1998.

- We sponsored the meeting of the leaders of the Defense Policy Department in the Ministry of National Defense with media representatives in 1998.

- We awarded a 500,000 lei prize to one of the participants in a contest organized by Antena 1 TV channel, in the program titled "Midnight Millionaires" for "best answer" to NATO integration.

- We sponsored the production of a documentary film: "Romania-NATO, together by force of destiny" (Script by Sorin Encutescu, vice-president of "Manfred Wö rner" Association. The film was awarded the first prize at the International Military Film Festival in 1997).

- We sponsored the issuing and releasing of the "NATO's SIXTEEN NATIONS" review special issue on Defense in Romania.

- We sponsored the presentation of the film "QUO VADIS?" made in the USA, on the actions taken by the Romanian community in the United States in favor of Romania's admission in NATO (authored by Alex Serban).

- We sponsored the release of the Romanian Defense Ministry's web site on INTERNET in 1997.
